Living houses in the village of Kotchura are located along the coastline. A compositional dominant of the building is the Chapel of Divine Ioann and a Sacred grove, which are well seen from all the neighboring villages.
The Chapel of Ioann in Kotchura was built in late XVIII century. It is located in a cemetery grove on the shore of the lake.
This small wooden building has a gable roof.
The chapel consists of cathedral rooms and an inner porch. There is an octahedral belfry above the inner porch. The chapel is typical cult building of the Karelians of Pryazha of XVIII - XIX centuries. The entrance gates are especially beautiful.
