Matka 2012, the largest international tourist exhibition, was held on January, 19-22 in Helsinki, Finland. The venue for the fair was Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The event, held by Finnish Fair Corporation - a professional trade show organizer, was to showcase the latest products, service, trends in sports-entertainment and travel industry.
As a tradition, the Republic of Karelia, being one of the leaders among tourist destinations in the Northwest of the Russian Federation, took part in this most significant tourist event.
The travel products and offers were presented by the Marcial Waters Spa (Kondopoga region), Intourist-Petrozavodsk Joint-Stock Company, Tourholding Karelia, Ltd., Nordic Travel, Ltd., country clubs of Gardarika (Sortavala region) and Big She-Bear (Medvezhiegors region), Aegis, Ltd. (Sortavala region). Such tourist companies as KOLMAS Karelia, Ltd. (Sortavala region), Druzhba, Ltd. (Olonets region) and Korela Travel Bureau, Ltd. worked a tthe Finnish partners' stands.
Participants of the Karelian exposition have pointed out that many visitors have taken a keen interest in the offers of travel agencies from Karelia.
