The monument to national fairy-narrator Petri Shemeikka (1825 - 1915) was place in 1935 on the day of the 100th anniversary of the first edition of "Kalevala" epos. The author of the monument is Alpo Sailo. Uno Verner Ullberg made the layout of the park. The monument was built at the expense of Judge Berg and at the profits of the singing holiday in 1926.
